Wáldinneres

Inspired by the atmospheric sensibilities of Swiss artist Hans Emmenegger, Wáldinneres transforms a nocturnal forest into an almost abstract theatre of light and shadow. Vertical shafts of golden illumination pierce the darkness in the dying moments of an afternoon, their glow diffused across the forest floor like fleeting brushstrokes of warmth amid encroaching obscurity. The scene shifts between representation and suggestion: trees become luminous forms, and darkness becomes a living presence. The composition evokes both mystery and revelation, inviting the viewer to linger in its ambiguous stillness. Through subtle gradations of tone and a restrained palette, the work examines the uncanny quiet of the woods at night, where natural and metaphysical realms seem to converge. Wáldinneres transcends the boundaries of landscape painting, becoming a quiet exploration of solitude and wonder – a vision of the forest not simply as a setting, but as a state of mind illuminated from within.
