In Windowlight, illumination becomes both subject and presence. A figure stands quietly at the window while a shaft of light falls across the room and strikes the carpet below, where it gathers warmth and colour. That reflected glow is then carried back into the interior, lending its orange-red radiance to the wall, the nearby plant and stand, and the glazed surface of the vase. The room seems to generate its own secondary light, as though colour were passing silently from one object to another. The result is a scene of stillness and intimacy in which perception itself becomes almost tangible.
Ewan Story.
At the heart of his practice lies a belief that painting is a form of storytelling – not through literal narrative, but through the slow, sensory language of light, texture, and emotion.
